* Oldest Church In Istanbul To Be Restored; The Imrahor Monument (St. Studios Monastery & Hagios Ionnes Prodromos Basilica), the oldest church in Turkish metropolis of Istanbul, will be restored, said Jale Dedeoglu, the curator of the Hagia Sophia Museum who is also responsible for this basilica.
* Istanbul Records 8% Rise in Tourist Arrivals
* 13th International Istanbul Jazz Festival Starts. In fact it has already started. This is a bit old news.

* The railroad service, which was launched last year between Istanbul and Thessaloniki in order to enhance Turkish-Greek friendship, will be evolved into a permanent service, according to an agreement reached between the Turkish and Greek railway administrations.
* A three-day workshop will be held by the İsmet Sıral Creative Music Studio July 6-8 at Boğaziçi University, bringing leading musicians together, realizing jazz musician Sıral’s dream of founding an international music school like the Woodstock-based Creative Music Studio, where he attended workshops

    True, but tourism in Turkey as a whole dropped significantly this year.
