Do you know that The EU Crime and Safety survey for 2006 showed that the crime rate in Istanbul was just 18 percent last year and Istanbul is the safest major city in the world……..VIA

    Hah!! Sure but it doesn’t talk about how many people especially tourists don’t report incidents and how many of them are discouraged by police into not reporting crimes as the police are getting a cut from criminals. I think that if corruption was accounted for in this percentage a different picture would have surely emerged.
