Two notes about culture

To my surprise I have seen big posters for Tuluyhan Uğurlus new album Dünya Başkenti İstanbul (World Capital Istanbul). The surprising thing is that a piano player is getting that kind of attention. Over a month ago I visited on of his concerts, a strange thematic concert about three ancient cites in Turkey. It was quite strong and the pianist himself was charismatic in the same way as the enthusiastic child eager to show hut he has built.

The Garanti Bank Gallery along İstiklal features at the moment Explosive Ideas, (Patlayıcı Fikirler) an interesting art exhibition by the Israeli Yossi Lemel (the exhibiton is also sponsored by the Israli consulate). It consists o quite striking political posters. I’m not a big fan of graphical art (maybe due to my clour blindness) but this is striking and intellectually clear enough to suit me. Give it a visit, it’s free!
