Being an Istanbul child, I am used to big shopping centers. I witnessed the opening of Galleria in Atak

A hint to those as dense as I am: if you enter Cevahir from the metro, don’t start your shopping at Koctas and Tepe on the bottom floor. We could not find any escalators that accomodated carts and no elevators that went UP, only down to the carpark. We couldn’t carry our heavy new purchases anywhere and we didn’t have a car to stow it in.

Couldn’t find any rubbish bins anywhere, inside or out.

I remain, however, in awe of the amll’s sheer size. In terms of a good time-wasting venue, it offers hours of mindless distraction.
