new lira
i had planned to write an entry about the new turkish lira but lots of things came in the way and i, umm, sort of forgot about it. here is a short intro: as of january 2005, the new turkish lira is the currency of turkey. the only difference from the old one is that, 6 0’s have been omitted. we used to walk around with millions of turkish liras and were being paid milliards (the lucky minority, i mean) before 2005, but not anymore. joe taheny, an australian living in mersin, has set up a site about the whole conversion thing. visit the new lira if you want to see the photos of both currencies and learn about other facts.

yea, omitting the 0`s from our currency made sth different in my life… Now i dont tell anyone to think that “you can buy just cips with ur one million Turkish Liras, but you can get one million dollar if u catch the Saddam Hussein” In fact he catched already, maybe i dont say that cause of that… I gotta think! :)
