i had planned to write an entry about the new turkish lira but lots of things came in the way and i, umm, sort of forgot about it. here is a short intro: as of january 2005, the new turkish lira is the currency of turkey. the only difference from the old one is that, 6 0′s have been omitted. we used to walk around with millions of turkish liras and were being paid milliards (the lucky minority, i mean) before 2005, but not anymore. joe taheny, an australian living in mersin, has set up a site about the whole conversion thing. visit the new lira if you want to see the photos of both currencies and learn about other facts.

good news!! over the next couple of weeks we�ll be kicking up our heels with !f istanbul.

it�s the only �rare edition� independent film festival in turkiye which means that it will be possible to see lots of movies that are fairly hard to come by, some dazzling, some kinky, some hardcore, with side events and special screenings of course.
